We have had this style can opener for more than 51 years as of 2020. It was set aside as we went through electric can openers and more updated manual models. Well, all of them have failed. And most recently a new one I was using for about 2 months never worked right. I had similar ones saved for Bug In/Out bags, but I didn't want to use them. I found the old one, same as this model, and it worked so well.

So, in my opinion, I would definitely buy one of these old model type can openers when the updated different model ones fail.
