We have been using this style thermos since our Y2K research in 1999. We love it. It keeps hot liquids hot for hours. The only problem you might have is with the handle, where the metal might loosen up. We just closed it up again with pliers. That was ten years ago. Not a problems since. We highly recommend  this thermos, if you want a large one. It is heavy for backpacking, but it is the real classic thermos, around since 1913. We have 3 of them. Great for bugging-in your house or shelter retreat, too.
