The Storm Alert Whistle is one of the loudest whistles on the market. Its dual-chamber construction means it can be heard over the roar of wind and even or even under water. Attach one to your backpack, whenever you venture into the backcountry. It's a survival basic.
I have this whistle. I bought it around the year 2000.
The only other whistles I purchased way before I found this one for Y2K, were the all metal with a pea inside whistles. I have these also, however, over time, I have read that the pea can accumulate bacteria and I find that this Storm Whistle is a lot louder. The only thing that I would change about it, is that it would be wonderful if it was made out of rustproof metal. However, out of all the whistles I have researched recently, and the fact that I have had this whistle since the year 2000, I highly recommend it.
