One of those rare instances where we list a product that we don't recommend for its original use. Why? Because, in some instances, a bear bell may actually attract a bear. But wearing one is up to your personal preference. So we listed it.

So why buy a bear bell??

Because, if you become lost and want to alert someone, you may be out of breath using a whistle or just too tired to continue to blow the whistle. You can continue alerting someone that you are lost or injured by ringing the bell. So this bell is a good thing to have with you to use in an emergency situation. But we don't recommend wearing it and having it ring all the time. Just use it to alert someone to help find you.
