Used as a FIRESTARTER and more.

Anchor 1

Cotton balls are a necessity when in survival mode to start fires.

Note that on all brands of cotton balls, reviewers are complaining that the cotton balls are too small. This even includes those listed as large and jumbo. So, we chose these, because of the cheaper price and the number of cotton balls enclosed. If they are too small, use two or more.

Cotton Balls: Uses

COTTON BALL FIRE-STARTER:

-Buy a JAR OF PETROLEUM JELLY. It does not have to be the Vaseline brand

-Buy a BAG OF 100% COTTON--COTTON BALLS

-Then pick up a cotton ball and cover up to 3/4 of the cotton ball with petroleum jelly, so the dry part can be ignited with a spark. Then after you repeat this process with as many cotton balls as you like, put all the petroleum soaked cotton balls in a zip-lock bag, and get them ready for fire-starting in your bug out bag or backpack.

- Petroleum jelly covered cotton balls are easily ignited. The dry cotton fibers can be ignited by a spark or flame with ferro rods, matches, lighters, etc.

-Petroleum cotton balls are wind resistant, waterproof, lightweight, long lasting, and inexpensive

.-DRYER LINT covered with petroleum jelly will also work, but it is a lot easier and faster to buy cotton balls, than wait to accumulate dryer lint. And cotton balls will have more uses than dryer lint. Here are a few:

WARD OFF RABBITS FROM YOUR GARDEN:

Keep them away with some cotton balls soaked with distilled white vinegar. You can either leave the cotton balls out in the open around your plants, or place them in a small container, like a film canister or plastic takeout box, with holes poked in the top.

TREAT POISON IVY:

Drying out the rash can help. Brew a strong cup of tea, then soak a cotton ball with it. Rub it over the affected area and let the spot air-dry.

BLISTER RELIEF:

Stick a cotton ball inside your shoe, wherever it’s rubbing against your skin to add some cushioning and keep your feet pain-free. If a blister has already cropped up, just use a cotton ball as a barrier between the wound and your footwear.

ANT REMOVAL:

Make a homemade ant trap by mixing together a tablespoon each of hot water and sugar, then add half a teaspoon of borax. Soak a cotton ball with the solution, and place it where ants are gathering. The sugar will attract the bugs, and the borax will poison them. Make sure your pets are not able to reach these toxic cotton balls.
