Supplement to normal washing. Perfect for pre wash and helping with tough stains, delicate items, as well as large or bulky items (comforters/blankets, sleeping bags, rugs) or even single items you don't have time to run through an electric wash cycle.
Cost Savings. Less water, no electricity, less detergent.
Breathing Mobile Washer - hand operated, portable, clothes washing machine uses a technique of pushing and pulling water through clothes opposed to top and front loading washing machines that only splashes water around or the harsh scrubbing of a washboard resulting in a superior clean with less wear and tear. Uses minimal water and less soap. Use in a bucket (5-gallon suggested), sink or tub. You can also rinse your clothes using fresh water.

I have this plunger washer with the wooden handle. I have been using it for the last 10 years. Before that, in 1999, I bought the same washer style but it had a metal plunger instead of the plastic. I bought it for the possible Y2K computer shutdown. So I only used it a few times to test it out. When I went to check it after a while, the metal rusted. I replaced it with the plastic plunger. I use it all the time, since my washing machine broke. It washes extremely well. I put the dirty clothes in a 5 gallon bucket in the tub and then add detergent and water and plunge it. I dump out the dirty water twice and plunge each time till I see that all the soap is out. I found that it is a lot easier and makes the clothes just as clean by using dish washing liquid instead. It is much easier to get all the soapy dish washing liquid out than it is to get the soapy detergent out of the clothes.

This bucket can be used for multiple purposes. One of them is to wash clothes with the plunger listed above. We have been utilizing this method occasionally, since 1999. We use 2 buckets at a time. One to wash the clothes in, then the second one to place the clothes in to rinse, while we dump out the dirty water from the first bucket where we washed the clothes. In our opinion, it is a lot easier to wash some clothes this way, than by hand without a plunger.

If you don't have a washng machine, instead of going to the laundromat, it is a lot less time consuming to wash your clothes this way. Also, the laundromats have not only gotten to be a lot more expensive, but are sometimes hard to find. Between the cost of gas to travel to one, the cost of washing and drying the clothes, and having to waste a whole day packing the clothes in the car, drivinging to the laundromat, unpacking the clothes, waiting for a washer and dryer to be available, repacking the clothes to put in the car, carting the clothes in the house, unpacking the clothes to put them away, this method with the plunger and buckets is quicker and easier and costs nothing, except for the use of the detergent and your water.

After you wash and rinse your clothes, either hang them outside on your clothesline, or hang them indoors in your bathtub on the wooden clothes dryers listed below. If you don't have a bathtub, ring out your clothes really well, and place them on the wooden clothes dryers set up in one of your rooms with a large garbage bag laying flat on the floor underneath each wooden dryer so any left over water dripping from the clothes won't get on and stain the floor underneath the dryers.
